Evolution of the Faroe Islands infrastructure for space communications and radar applications

To define the procurement apporach, requirements and development roadmap of communications infrastructure at Faroe Island ;to respond to emerging requirements ;of Space communications, Space Surveillance and Tracking (SST) for the Arctic region

New space communications infrastructure at Faroe Island could be of interest for ESA Programmes, in the domain of Earth Observation, Lunar exploration, Space Transportation and Space Safety.;The activity aims at creating new infrastructure at the Faroe Islands, to respond to emerging requirements in the domains of Space communications, Space Surveillance and Tracking (SST) for the Arctic region, in the frame of the Space Situational Awareness Programme (SSA) and Artic surveillance;The activity encompasses the following tasks:- Definition of a roadmap for the build-up of Space Communications, SST/SSA and ;Artic Surveillance capabilities at the Faroe Islands, based on identified user requirements ;- Selection of suitable sites for the build-up and exploitation of the capabilities- Generation of level 0 requirements for the build-up of the relevant assets- Procurement approach and cost analysis based on a defined concept of operations
