Development of metal corrugated/flexible hoses

Objective(s): ​Flex hoses design phase and derisking activities (including breadboard manufacturing and tests) to achieve a TRL = 6​Pressure drop tests​Resistive torques characterization​Vibration tests​Static characterization

Achievements and status: ​TRL = 6 achieved for three different type of hoses (for different ranges of movement)​Pressure drop preliminary measured​Resistive torque characterized in various conditions (temperatures, pressure)​Tested in relevant mechanical environment (vibration): test permits to highlight the need of some system level design improvements (i.e. retaining system for the hoses during launch) ​Benefits: ​Improved knowledge of the ¾” flexible hoses (previous limited to smaller diameter) behavior in relevant environment
