- Radiation test of selected COTS components

The current situation is that the marketplace remains extremely competitive. The main concern is that the unless European technology keeps up with competition, especially from US solar cell manufacturers, then European products will not be competitive and technology independence will be lost. Continuity of development remains critical in order to maintain this position.

Qualification of fully European 3G30 bare solar cell with integral diode up toSolar Cell Assembly level
The 3G30 solar cell represents the state of the art solar cell technology with the worldwide highest electrical performance (30% BoL Efficiency); the cell has been developped mainly in the frame of ESA TRP.
This solar cell is now baselined for all near future ESA missions and is being considered as baseline for most of the future commerical telecom missions.
