This project was intended to contribute to the implementation of the e-navigation concept (as defined by IMO, Ref. 2.2.6), with primary focus on the navigation in restricted waters, such as harbours, lagoons or regions where the traffic congestion can create conditions for accidents or inefficient operations.
SATE
GALIST is a project that supports the traceability of food products linked to their position and the occurrence of significant events (e.g. labelling, packaging, shipping). The system is based on an innovative concept that uses GNSS combined with ADSB data, which is provided by airplanes. The GALIST project uses, in fact, a double-certification approach – based on a proprietary algorithm – to keep track of products.
Origosat
Indonesia is periodically affected by severe volcanic eruptions and earthquakes, which are geologically coupled to the convergence of the Australian tectonic plate beneath the Sunda Plate. SAR interferometry (InSAR) is a satellite technology based on radar sensors that can be used to support the study and modelling of terrain movements such as tectonic motions associated with faults, and volcanic processes related to magma movement. The main advantages of InSAR is the synoptic view of wide areas, and the periodic surveying that guarantees long-term monitoring and time series analysis.
ISSIA
The ERICA team set up an ad-hoc measurement campaign (March-October 2015) carried on with contribution of local experts in Indonesia and Vietnam, who conducted the data collection with ground-based instruments deployed in the footprints of EIA and EIT. The set of instruments included scintillation and Total Electron Content (TEC) monitors, magnetometers, and ionosondes. Collected data comprehend raw and processed data from GNSS scintillation monitors and variation of the components of the geomagnetic field.
