The Low-Cost Solar Panel Assembly GSTP Project has the high-level objective of increasing the European TRL level for innovative, high power to volume ratio, versatile, low-cost solar arrays, in this way contributing to cover the gap in this area with US manufacturers and to improve Europe global competitiveness. This new generation of solar power systems are also key to electrical-propelled missions in the whole range of orbits of interest

COMPASS is a tool for model-based system/software co-engineering developed in a series of ESA studies (2008–2016). It is based on a dialect of AADL and it offers a complete set of functionalities for formal verification, including requirements specification and analysis, contract-based design and verification, functional verification, fault specification, fault injection and RAMS analyses, including Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Diagnosability Analysis, Fault Detection, Isolation and Recovery Analysis (FDIR).
Fondazione Bruno Kessler
The objective of this activity is to assess the system level and design impacts of optimising a satellite design for on-orbit manufacturing and assembly, as well as preparing it to be refurbished, reused or recycled on orbit afterwards, and to identify the technologies needed.
Thales Alenia Space
The focus of this study was the system-level assessment of potential small mission architectures that could operate at Mars in the 2030s, after or potentially in parallel with MSR mission.
In particular two cases were evaluated:
- Mission 1: Mars Communications Constellation (MCC), for supporting assets on the surface and providing science
- Mission 2: Mars Science Orbiter (MSO), a science-driven mission, remote sensing

Recent trends in miniaturisation of space hardware combined with the provision of affordable and standardised spacecraft components and structures is opening up space to new players and is rapidly increasing the traffic into orbit.
Telespazio
The objective of this activity was to propose a general infrastructure of an end-to-end simulator (E2ES) for space science missions, namely an E2ES requirements baseline, reference architecture and an associated library of software models (building blocks, BB) to promote reuse, standardisation and reduction of engineering costs by defining a products/science validation process throughout the lifecycle based on an E2ES.
