In this project, the University of Luxembourg studied and evaluated a new concept of connecting space missions via space internet providers. The system requirements, necessary adaptations, and possible limitations are provided and discussed. Three types of space internet provider were studied and evaluated: Starlink, OneWeb and O3b mPOWER.

To develop large scale infrastructure on the Moon many different systems will have to be shipped to the Moon to produce the necessary components. This means that the traditional design of systems cannot be assumed and a production machine cannot be expected to provide its own power especially when power demand is in the 100kW-1MW range . A large scale lunar or martian base will most likely require an operating micro grid network, in order to effectively progress large scale developments.

Marine litter is a global issue; rubbish can be found in all the seas from the equator to the poles, as well as in freshwater systems, such as rivers and lakes. Most marine litter is plastic and, as plastic production continues to increase, greater impacts are expected. Plastic marine litter dramatically affects marine ecosystems and has a huge economic impact.
