COMPASS is a tool for model-based system/SW co-engineering developed in a series of ESA studies (2008-2016). It is based on a dialect of AADL and it offers a complete set of functionalities for formal verification, including requirements specification and analysis, contract-based design and verification, functional verification, fault specification, fault injection and RAMS analyses, including Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Diagnosability Analysis, Fault Detection, Isolation and Recovery Analysis (FDIR).

The space industry and allied agencies have long acknowledged the interest and added value of Model-Based System Engineering in expediting the design, development, deployment, and verification of space systems. The definition of models and equipment that can serve the diverse objectives of the system engineering process has been the focus of numerous initiatives over the past few decades. The next stage is to employ MBSE broadly throughout the system life cycle across disciplines and the supply chain.

UNIVERSITY OF STRATHCLYDE
The EasyMOD project takes place in the OSIP Model-Based System Engineering Campaign as an Early technology Development of ESA, as well as an IRT Saint Exupéry project funded by Airbus Defence and Space, Airbus Commercial Aircraft, HDGroup and the French Government. It aims at improving the human/machine interactions in the use of MBSE models, by providing friendlier visualisation and review capabilities, modelling assistants and new kind of HW and SW interfaces.
IRT Saint Exupery
The Integrated MBSE Analytics Platform (IMAP) has been developed in the course of the OSIP [OSIP] MBSE campaign’s MBSE2DataLake project. It demonstrates how MBSE data can be downstreamed from early phases and integrated with Telemetry data or system operations data. Applying MachineLearning analytics and customized visualization on these sets of integrated data provides seamless analysis capabilities and data browsing experience for the user. The approach leads to linking the former separated domains of System Design and AIT/Operations.

The MBSE and Space to Ground ICD activity started with the goal of applying MBSE practices to the preparation of the Space to Ground ICD (S2GICD). This study involves the following main steps:

Tables and graphs are knowingly used to organise data within a company with different levels of depth and complexity. Knowledge graphs (KGs) are particularly useful because they can cope with data diversity (high-quality complete data and sparse and incomplete data), they have a high degree of scalability and flexibility (the semantic data model can be inter-operational, large, wide and as deep as needed) and, last but not least, they provide reasoning and inference capabilities.
UNIVERSITY OF STRATHCLYDE
This activity investigates how mega-constellations can be used to provide low-Earth orbit (LEO) spacecraft with broadband low-latency services, a novel Concept with potential to disrupt spacecraft design, operation, and performance by allowing spacecraft to access mega-constellations’ enormous resources (Tbit/s throughputs) and global coverage at a lower cost than traditional data relay systems and ground station networks (two to fifty times cheaper, that is, a few hundred to a few thousand dollars per month for a daily net capacity from hundredths of Gbit up to almost ten Tbit).
