Previous work has verified that fibre composite fabrication processes are capable of a high degree of automation and structural performance. The AR0 test-chip was used to study the impact of SEUs and SETs on different versions of a hardened processor on UTBB-FDSOI 28nm technology, including DICE flip-flops, and three different hardening level of combinational logic. As a matter of fact, it is the size of the point spread function that determines the resolution: two points closer than the PSF width will be difficult to resolve due to the substantial overlap of their images.Until recently, this Rayleigh criterion has been consid- ered as a fundamental limit. Resolution can only be improved either by reducing the wavelength or by building higher numerical-aperture optics, thereby making the PSF Czech Republic Discovery 17/A/01 Palacký University 2018 - 2018 Super-resolution via spatial mode demultiplexing and its applicability to observational astronomy Growing fungi structures in space The mushroom-forming fungi Pleurotus ostreatus (PO), Trametes versicolor (TV) and Schizophyllum commune (SC) are known to effectively colonise organic material. These fungi were grown on the aquatic fern Azolla filiculoides (AF), the fastest growing plant on Earth, and that can fix its own nitrogen. SC showed the best growth on AF. Therefore, growth of this fungus was determined under microgravity conditions and high radiation dosage (up to 200 Gy) and related to melanin production. Netherlands Discovery 16/R04 University of Utrecht 2016 - 2018 Growing fungi structures in space Local sleep episodes during wakefulness and long term space travel The aim of this study was to assess how space travel modifies local sleep episodes in wakefulness during a visuo-motor task and weather this is related to performance. To this end, specific EEG (electroencephalogram) data previously recorded on board the ISS during the Neurospat experiment (AO-2004, 118) were used. When distributing entangled photon pairs through a gravitational potential, the effect of spacetime curvature on the properties of quantum states can become significant. This could be relevant for plans to use satellites for global quantum key distribution. The impediment at cosmological scales is our lack of understanding of dark matter and dark energy. At microscopic scales, it is the unknown effect of gravity on quantum mechanics. Recently, space-based matter wave interferometers have been proposed as candidates for addressing certain aspects of both these problems. For space this alternative energy conversion process could enable applications under different environmental conditions (e.g. temperature ranges, radiation) and offer the advantage of higher theoretical conversion efficiency. The development of novel effective countermeasures for sleep loss, performance decrements and psychological deficits during space missions is needed. SPE can be considered as related mainly to deterministic effects of the cosmic radiation, with hazards to man arising for physical doses above 2 Gy, when symptoms of the hematopoietic syndrome appear.
