The final goal is to serve autonomous navigation vessels, with a possible extension to other smart commercial maritime services and to favour the process towards a highly and full digitalisation of the Port system. The autonomous ship is here considered from an operating point of view, although quite simple and with the purpose of understanding the impact on the telecommunication system. The initial focus is on three possible telecommunication solutions: Denmark Discovery 20-D-S-TEC-02 Picosats 2020 - 2022 Driving a Quantum Ship Implementation and Validation of In-situ Process Monitoring and Control for Highly Automated Space Solar Generator Manufacturing Solar panel suppliers are developing a partially automated solar generator assembly process. In Europe, the Fiber Optic Gyro (FOG) technologies offers the highest performance for satellites applications and is currently fulfilling all immediate mission needs. The high-performance portion of the gyro landscape is dominated by HRG technology in the United States. In Europe, this technology also has ? but more recently ? achieved very high performance, for terrestrial inertial applications. With support from European Space Agency (ESA) and Vertico, the Technical University Delft (TUD) advanced research into constructing habitats in empty lava tubes on Mars in order to create subsurface habitats. By building below ground level not only natural protection from radiation is achieved but also thermal insulation because the temperature below ground is more stable. Autonomous vision-based navigation is a particular technology under implementation in several ESA missions. One of the most interesting applications in that field is the proximity operations around a small asteroid, like those in HERA.The goal of this activity was to develop a navigation algorithm with the capability to fly over an unknown terrain and achieve better navigation performances than current vision-based techniques based on unknown feature tracking. Drillers of this type require a cumulated length of pipe as long as the depth reached, which translates into a large mass. Furthermore friction increases with depth so for any drill larger than few meters, the well must be lined. A general mathematical toolbox for global optimisation is not presently available; all existing solvers and solution algorithms are narrowly specialized towards particular problem types or not available in a high-performance implementation. WORHP is a local optimiser, and hence it provides good results when it is restricted to a small search space by a user-provided initial guess.
