GALIST is a project that supports the traceability of food products linked to their position and the occurrence of significant events (e.g. labelling, packaging, shipping). The system is based on an innovative concept that uses GNSS combined with ADSB data, which is provided by airplanes. The GALIST project uses, in fact, a double-certification approach – based on a proprietary algorithm – to keep track of products.

Implementation of the European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2 requires that a huge amount of physical balises (known as Eurobalises), used to determine each train’s position and direction of motion, be deployed in order to support safe operation of high-speed/high-frequency train services all along the European railway infrastructure. The associated costs are substantial, which motivates the investigation of cheaper technologies.

The Entry, Descent and Landing System (EDLS) is one of the main system drivers for an interplanetary mission aiming at landing a payload on a planetary surface. The ultimate goal is to land safely the payload onto the planet surface. Towards that end, different constraints must be fulfilled in order to achieve a successful landing.
