It focused on using the POCKET+ algorithm for the compression of housekeeping telemetry data. The project contained a space component, which performed the compression of provided user data, and a ground component, for the decompression of transmitted user data. Three use cases were selected within the scope of the project: file-to-file, packet-to-packet, and stream-to-stream lossless data transfers. Optical communications technology offers the potential of a dramatic increase in data-rates, specifically in the down-link of science data, thereby allowing for a substantial increase in science return.Direct detection technology using pulse position modulation (PPM) is regarded as the preferred solution for "deep space" optical links. A trade-off among different feed configuration will be performed. After selection of the preferred solution the feed will be designed including diplexers/filters and tracking couplers. Mechanical drawings will be prepared and critical components will be manufactured and tested in order to de-risk the project. In particular, the following activities will be performed: Luxembourg GSTP GT11-012GS HITEC LUXEMBOURG SA 2020 - 2022 Tri-band (S/X/K) feed system design for future EO missions Augmented and virtual reality support tool for ground station equipment and telescopes Ground Stations and Telescopes are often in remote geographical locations. The local staff do often not possess the required skills and/or knowledge to perform all tasks related to configuration, maintenance and operation of the hardware equipment. As a result, more experienced engineers must travel to the sites to perform the respective tasks. Multiple different stakeholders can detect and identify events (space collision predictions, natural disaster definitions). Augmentation of events definitions lead to confusion for local authorities, operators or any users of these information for costly decisions. This project, Space DAO, sets the base infrastructure to agree on consensus mechanisms to reduce confusion and augment trust in key decision making information. Assembly, integration and verification from equipment up to platform and satellite level is a huge set of tasks and the nature of the involved engineering disciplines are very diverse. Activities are performed in parallel at several locations executed by different teams of experts and using a variety of tools. Earth observation and satellite-based communications play a key role in supporting disaster management targeting responsiveness and the persistence of the service. In the terminology of on-demand Copernicus services, responsiveness is determined by the lead-time and latency. The persistence is determined by the availability and by the revisit time of the service. Such an infrastructure will provide a comprehensive and scalable set of commercial services to EO sensors and space-based data providers. It enables several applications by efficiently collecting and fusing information on target objects from observations of different platforms at various wavelengths, resolutions, and times. As a result, it leads to timely, precise information. The final goal is to serve autonomous navigation vessels, with a possible extension to other smart commercial maritime services and to favour the process towards a highly and full digitalisation of the Port system. The autonomous ship is here considered from an operating point of view, although quite simple and with the purpose of understanding the impact on the telecommunication system. The initial focus is on three possible telecommunication solutions: Denmark Discovery 20-D-S-TEC-02 Picosats 2020 - 2022 Driving a Quantum Ship Pagination « First First page ‹‹ Previous page 1 2 3 4 5 ›› Next page Last » Last page Filter by Programme GSTP (16) Discovery (14) TDE (10) Preparation (1) Filter by Start Year 2020 (12) 2019 (7) 2022 (7) 2017 (3) 2018 (3) 2014 (2) 2015 (2) 2021 (2) 2012 (1) 2023 (1) 2024 (1) Filter by End Year 2022 (13) 2023 (8) 2021 (7) 2024 (5) 2018 (3) 2019 (3) 2016 (1) 2020 (1) Filter by Keywords Autonomous Shipping (5) autonomous navigation (2) harbour to harbour (2) OPS-SAT (2) PNT (2) 1-Space Situational Awareness (1) 2-Ground segment and operations (1) 3-Platforms / Others (1) 3-Space Segment - Payload (1) 6-EnVision (1) 9-Technologies applicable to several Cosmic Vision Missions (1) 12-MSR (1) 15-Technologies applicable to several Cosmic Vision Missions (1) 16-Mission Operations Data Systems (1) 32-Clean Space (1) 40-Design to Produce (1) 47-OPS-INN (1) AI (1) Amplifier (1) arctic navigation (1) blockchain (1) cognitive cloud computing (1) Communication (1) Copernicus (1) data compression (1) Disaster Management (1) Earth observation (1) EGNOS (1) ESANAV (1) Galileo (1) GNSS (1) Mega Constellations (1) Megaconstellations (1) ML (1) onboard compression (1) Quantum Physics (1) quantum ship (1) Radio Frequency (1) RF (1) satellite communications (1) Sensors (1) space DAO (1) Space Links (1) space traffic management (1) telemetry compression (1) THA (1) Theory (1) Filter by Contractor GMV (2) TTI (2) Antwerp Space (1) ATOS IT SOLUTIONS & SERVICES GMBH (1) CALLISTO FRANCE SAS (1) CEA - Commissariat a l Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives (1) CHALMERS UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY (1) Deimos (1) DEIMOS ENGENHARIA S.A.
