Cloud Data Processing Service
The Cloud Data Processing Service (CDPS) project aims to develop a pre-operational system for managing Payload Data Ground Segments (PDGS) by leveraging cloud technology. The primary objectives include reducing deployment costs and utilizing cloud capabilities for resource scalability. CDPS intends to transition from on-site PDGS and processing services to cloud-based solutions.
CDPS envisages to provide cloud capacity for data processing. It offers a cloud-agnostic, highly-scalable framework with resource elasticity, a common component for mission data, and marketplace service for third-party integration. CDPS aims to lower infrastructure costs while providing efficient, scalable, and secure processing capabilities for various Earth Observation systems.
The CDPS is a system designed to meet the diverse needs of Ground Segments, particularly in creating scalable and elastic processing systems. It excels in managing distributed, multiplatform deployments of its components.
CDPS Overview:
The CDPS consists of common components capable of deploying different instances of GCORE, offering the functionalities found in Ground Segments, especially those related to processing systems.
Customization and Configuration:
GCORE instances are customizable to fulfil mission or project requirements. Each GCORE instance can serve a specific Ground Segment function or processing chain. CDPS leverages the portfolio components provided by GCORE, allowing for extensive customization and configurability with minimal modifications.
