This is achieved by mixing it with phytantriol, a commercially available non-toxic, non-volatile, non-corrosive, non-inflammable lipid. Both, the scale up of the enrichment process from laboratory scales, and the separation of water from phytantriol, are demonstrated experimentally. In this study different types of regolith analogs shall be heated by microwave energy and the process shall be optimized for power efficiency. Microwave heating is considered as an effective pathway to achieve necessary temperatures within the regolith for ISRU applications. Microwave heating of regolith has been studied on a basic level by NASA and is being applied in the mining industry on high value ores to enhance e.g. Italy TDE T314-607MM RINA CONSULTING SPA 2020 - 2023 Microwave heating of ISRU feedstock Technologies for the Management of LOng EO Data Time Series (LOOSE) The continuously increasing amount of long-term and of historic data in EO facilities in the form of online datasets and archives makes it necessary to address technologies for the long-term management of these data sets, including their consolidation, preservation, and continuation across multiple missions. The management of long EO data time series of continuing or historic missions, with more than 20 years of data available already today, requires technical solutions and technologies which differ considerably from the ones exploited by existing systems. With support from European Space Agency (ESA) and Vertico, the Technical University Delft (TUD) advanced research into constructing habitats in empty lava tubes on Mars in order to create subsurface habitats. By building below ground level not only natural protection from radiation is achieved but also thermal insulation because the temperature below ground is more stable. The habitat should operate self-sufficiently in the long term by producing and recycling its own oxygen and food inside large greenhouses and almost exclusively by using solar irradiation power. The proposed concept features a combination of: Austria Discovery S 2020-06-b Pneumocell 2021 - 2022 PneumoPlanet - Study of an Inflatable Moon Habitat Analysis of space debris recycling potential to supply raw materials for construction on the Moon As on Earth, space debris should not only be seen as a threat. Instead, the value of waste as a recycled good should be understood. On Earth, this potential is already fully recognised. The German recycling industry alone generates more revenue than the entire European space industry. Nevertheless, this treasure was never lifted in space. The utilisation of the Moon, being the next logical step in implementing the global strategy for colonising the Solar System, is a focus of national and international space agencies.
