De-risk assessment: Development of modular peripheral and redundancy switch controller (PRSC)
Objectives

Gather, understand and translate into a development plan the requirements from ADAMP project for such a product, Identify necessary industrial components, design the product PCB and propose a relevant firmware architecture, Manufacture an engineering model, develop the firmware and perform validation testing in collaboration with INCAS, Design and perform structural analysis for the PCB case, select proper connectors and implement an IP67 waterproof rating assembly process, Manufacture the PCB case and integrate the product, Perform proof testing and validation on the product by applying MIL-STD 810 G standard.

Description

The project called Peripheral and Redundancy Switch Controller is based on the proposal made by Agile Systems Engineering to develop, test and integrate a switch between two on-board-computers (OBCs) that would be connected to a number of peripherals (actuators, components etc.) and sensors in order to allow redundancy at a system level.

- Two electronic systems called MiniHydra were developed, manufactured and tested – Serial No. 1 and Serial No. 2

- After the full integration of the assembly, it was sent to the testing facility for the testing phase in compliance with MIL-STD-810G environmental testing for shock, vibrations and a testing report was generated which based on the procedure of operational testing validation proved that the developed assembly was capable of enduring shocks, vibration and low pressure environment in compliance with the above-mentioned standard. This further served as a validation for the ADAMP use case as the load cases received from ADAMP were under the load cases defined and testing for the MIL-STD-810G standard.
