The previous GSTP de-risk activity has demonstrated the manufacturing feasibility of an inner nozzle shell. A full size inner part has been produced in 253MA Stainless Steel and a subscale part in Carpenter 21-6-9 Stainless Steel.

The main benefits of this manufacturing process are a potential recurring cost and lead time reduction for the nozzle extension (since the number of parts, welds and other manufacturing steps required for the nozzle manufacturing would significantly decrease).

SpaceWire has become a de facto standard for payload systems (including for Command & Control) and its Real-Time derivatives are now being considered for avionics. The capability provided by SpaceWire to develop data handling systems based on high-speed networks allows much greater performance but implies implementing communication bus management techniques specific to SpaceWire. As network management is not part of the basic SpaceWire protocol ECSS-E-ST-50-12C (Rev.1), it must be provided to industry in the form of an additional standard.

Thermo-optical coatings are used to control and to protect sensitive surfaces of satellites and spacecrafts. The paints are mostly either black (high alpha) and conducting or they are white (low alpha) and non-conducting. Most paint also do not originate from Europe. COIN COAT is an acronym for COnducting Inert Non-hazardous COATings and wants to overcome the statement that a conducting paint needs to be black.

The objective of the SysAOCS project was to investigate the use of SysML to digitalize the AOCS/GNC description. The project started in February 2022 and was organized into 4 tasks running for a total duration of 1 year. The first task was devoted to the investigation of previous related activities and the selection of two study cases. Among the different SysML methodologies, the SysML ESA Solution was selected and used to build a dedicated AOCS/GNC profile.

Recent developments in optimisation formulation and software design have allowed multi-criteria optimisation problems to be solved in real-time on typical space-grade processors. An important potential application is slew attitude guidance in the presence of actuator limitations and star tracker or instrument exclusion zones, particularly when slew time is critical.The optimisation problem can be formulated as time, fuel or pointing error (during slew) minimisation with constraints of exclusion zones and actuator authority envelopes.

The Envision CDF exercise has concluded that a bit rate of 75 Mbps is required to comply with the data return strategy, mainly due to big quantity of data produced by the proposed SAR instrument.At the Venus distances the received power on earth is quite limited, requiring a very efficient modulation and coding system.Turbo rate 1/4 is a very efficient coding mode, allowing to go down to Eb/No of 0 to 0.25 dB, which is around 1 dB better than the LDPC 1/2 codes, which is the current solution used in EUCLID at these high data rates.
