Objectives

The main objective is the optimization and scale-up of a protective coating (IRUCOAT) for aluminium alloys components of space devices as a substitute of Cr-based products.

Description

IRUCOAT is an eco-friendly hybrid sol-gel coating based on SiO2-Zr02-organic epoxy interconnected network, developed by TECNALIA and already tested for corrosion protection and other performance requirements applicable to the aerospace sector.
