ESE Ergonomic User Interfaces (ESE-ERGO)
Objectives
The objective of this activity is to review the emerging IT technology (server-less, Kubernetes, container-orchestration, OpenAPI, Hypermedia) and to select and further evolve the selected software components for future data access and exploitation. The final aim will be to support future user?s interfaces for the EO community.

Description
In parallel with the design and implementation of the current operational Proba-V Mission Exploitation Platform (PV-MEP), based upon a series of building blocks (i.e. software components) prototyped in previous technology development projects, various standardization activities (led by ESA in collaboration with the Open Geospatial Consortium and the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites) have been carried out, in order to make such developed software components aligned and interoperable with the current landscape in EO data access and exploitation (like e.g. the Gateway, the product catalogue and the collection catalogue components of the ESA FedEO infrastructure, or the Data Manager component).

Such standardization activities also led to the definition of a new and more efficient EO metadata specifications based on GeoJSON. In this context, it is essential to significantly improve performance and scalability and widen the applicability of the developed solutions. New technology trends shall be investigated and adapted to bring real benefits in the EO community. Among them are:
