Objectives
The objective of the activity is to support the test system design, the detector characterisation amp; assembly and the wafer probing for the Faint Star component (APS detector for AOCS Sensors).
Description
After the successful evaluation campaign of the component, Faint Star is now used by a number of designs (Star Trackers and Navigation Cameras). The guarantee of supply is vital for the space industry. Following a company?s decision to stop commercialising the component, the proposed contractor is taking over. The manufacturing chain is not affected by this transfer. The design of the component is unchanged for the silicon die (produced at the same foundry), the package and its assembly. The key subcontractors (assembly house and test house) are maintained.
In order to enable this long term amp; sustainable commercialisation and technical assistance to customers, the proposed contractor will need to develop test system design, the detector characterisation amp; assembly and the wafer probing capabilities. The following tasks will be required and executed during the activity:
  • Develop the test systems for packaged components in line withthe requirements;
  • Design and validation of the wafer-level test capabilities tomaintain an acceptable production yield;
  • Establish new screening flows to provide Faint Star variantsaddressing different quality levels i.e. mid-end segmentthrough limiting the test requirements and accepting relaxedspecifications;
  • Characterize and verify the new test equipment through themanufacturing of a quot;mini-batchquot; of 25 detectors
