In particular, the Hera mission in currently in Phase B1 which will be concluded by a System Requirements Review in Summer 2019 after which a prompt start of Phase B2 is planned to reach PDR by end of 2020. ; Sweden GSTP GT17-176SP SWEDISH INSTITUTE OF SPACE PHYSICS 2019 - 2020 APEX (Hera Cubesat) Consolidation phase HERA CubeSat Phase A study The purpose of the activity is to define a payload system that complements the HERA planetary defence demonstration mission to a binary asteroid compatible with a launch in 2023. This mission concept builds on extensive work done by the Agency and European industry and academia, in particular, to enable the use of cubesats in deep space missions (ref. The obsolescence of the 80c51 is creating a hole not filled by the available high-end microcontrollers like the AT7913E.This type of applications implies a reduced component price, a small and easy to be assembled low pin-count package (not BGA) and (monolithic) integration of essential system components (e.g. Sweden TDE T701-317ED COBHAM GAISLER AB 2014 - 2020 Microcontroller for embedded space applications: Specification and design verification De-risk assessment: Manufacturing of Metallic Glasses for Bearings Applications N/A Sweden GSTP G617-241TAab EXMET AB 2018 - 2020 De-risk assessment: Manufacturing of Metallic Glasses for Bearings Applications Autocatalytic Silver for Space Applications Autocatalytic silver is an alternative to electroplating processes and it has the potential to improve both performance and reduce plating costs. The autocatalytic nature of the process means that plating is continued as long as the substrate is immersed in the plating bath, providing the unique feature of unlimited silver-film thickness without applying a current to the substrate. The purpose of the proposed GSTP is the continuation of the TRP activity for the validation of the K/Ka band amplifier in operational environement and for the preparation of the product demonstration. MMIC technology is intrinsically wideband and the design will cover the frequency band of many applications from earth exploration, science and exploration mission and radioastronomy as well. The scope of the studies were to identify needs in the Arctic region that could be met with mission architecture containing space elements, to propose such mission architectures, to define the elements of one of the architectures in some detail and to propose a plan to implement it. High Density Interconnect (HDI) technology entails miniaturisation of Surface Mounted Device (SMD) pads, tracks and microvias, which is already available technology for commercial market. Space market currently only uses more conservative larger dimensions for PCB routing and components. HDI is strongly driven by the decreasing pitch due to miniaturisation of available components. Denser population of PCBs leads to mass reduction. Typical HDI components are ceramic and, therefore, require the use of a low Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (CTE) laminate, such as the obsolete Thermount.
