Light Passive Attenuator
Description

A shock attenuation device improving the filtering efficiency of the current shock attenuator devices has been developed keeping the load capability domain, the stiffness linearity and reducing the height and the mass. Due to the nature of the concept it can be used as a damper to reduce the amplifications at the main modes

Lpa main features

  • very simple design, manufacturing and installation
  • payload domain up to 6400kg with flat>6hz
  • low profile h<75mm and low mass<75kg
  • linear stiffness up to the limit load and above
  • not inducing overfluxes to the adjacent structures
  • good reduction of the amplification at the main modes
  • good shock attenuation~-9db in radial and axial
  • non linear fem (abaqus) is available for scaling the design to
  • Other i/f’s, requirements
  • linear fem (nastran) is available for studies at system level
