Two IMU were selected from their datasheet : µ-UMI-IC-HP from Litef and STIM318 from Sensonor. These 2 IMU were submitted to hard characterization tests applicable to our Launchers (and HAPS) application. The goal of this project is prototyping and lab testing of a radiation-hardened single-chip picosecond TDC in a commercial 65 nm CMOS technology. In the frame another project, TAS-B develops New Space PPU modules to drive thrusters in the same power range, for platforms with 100 V regulated power bus. In the frame of the project “BBK for Low Power PPU”, TAS-B addresses the low range of the New Space market: smaller thrusters for smaller platforms with lower unregulated bus. This implicates that an observation system is needed combining high revisit and high spatial resolution. Currently there is no single remote sensing technology with sufficient revisit capabilities and spatial/spectral resolution relevant to FMPL dynamics. Therefore a combination of small drones, satellites and High Altitude Pseudo-Satellite (HAPS) is anticipated to provide the long term sustainable technical solution. Laser Metal Deposition Additive Manufacturing is a key-enabling technology for space products. For launch vehicles as well as spacecraft, a variety of parts has the potential to be optimised and produced through Additive Manufacturing, leading to significant performance increases. This includes parts ranging from a few millimeters like harness clips up to optical benches with dimensions of several meters. ; Belgium GSTP GT27-018MS Laser Cladding Venture NV 2018 - 2021 Development of Large-Class 3D Printing by means of ?VARIOCLAD? Laser Metal Deposition Modelling capsule stability accounting for shape change The design of a re-entry vehicle and the analysis of its performance are extremely challenging tasks. The difficulties increase when the understanding of its transient behaviour is sought and grow even further if this transient is affected by uncontrolled phenomena such as the shape change caused by the ablation of the thermal protection material used as heat shield. As one of the critical raw materials the use of it (mainly driven by solar cells) is a major contributor to mineral resource depletion.Today, Germanium is used as a growth template for certain solar cells. While the thickness of the Germanium on a solar cell level is extremely thin, around 140μm, actually only 10-20μm are actively being used. The rest is structural. Cloud systems are used mainly for accelerating complex calculations. However, developers create applications only on data they own because they do not trust any sharing and storage mechanism, often not covered by clear policies. The surface coating techniques will be evaluated, including electro and electroless depositions, surface conversion, anodising and paint for few widely used space materials (e.g. Ti6Al4V, AA316L, A357.0). The surface finishing techniques will also be evaluated including chemical milling, shot pinning, honing and electrochemical polishing. The combination of the two methods will also be investigated. Guideline on surface treatments for AM made parts will be established.
