In the recent years an increasing interest in the positioning navigation and timing service on the Moon has been shown in order to support next exploration missions on the Earth natural satellite. In order to improve satellite autonomy and support real time orbit determination, ESA has studied the use of GNSS signals in Moon orbits in previous activities.

    TASTE is a toolchain developed by ESA to provide tools for Model Based Software Engineering (MBSE). It provides tools for defining system architecture (in AADL), data model (in ASN.1/ACN) and behavior (in SDL), as well as automatic code generation (to Ada and C), model simulation and validation. EDS (CCSDS 876.0) is a proposed standard for exchanging Electronic Data Sheets (EDS) between various entities involved in spacecraft development.

    Activities on the miniaturisation of GIE thrusters started in 2005 to respond to the need of micro-propulsion systems capable of providing precise thrust modulation in the ?N to low mN regime. Since then, several prototypes have been developed for different applications demonstrating the predicted performance at different thrust levels. In parallel, activities to develop a propulsion subsystem around this type of thruster were initiated in 2009. Prototypes of this subsystem were successfully tested in 2012.

    The monitoring and control systems infrastructure at ESOC (based on SCOS-2000) is going to face obsolescence. ESA has decided to adopt the EGS-CC for future Monitoring and Control Systems for the pre-launch, operational and post-launch phases. For the ESOC EGS-CC monitoring and control infrastructure, the following main products are expected:
    • a new generation mission control system infrastructure (MICONYS-CC)
    • a new generation ground data systems validation infrastructure (TEVALIS-CC)
