The part component family is represented by the SPLVDS032RH and SPLVDS031RH, which are radiation hardened 400 Mbps Quad LVDS line receiver and line driver, correspondingly, and the SPLVDS104RH, which is a radiation hardened 800 Mbps 1:4 LVDS Fanout buffer. All these 3 components are optimised for high-speed, low power, low noise transmission over controlled impedance transmission media (e.g. cables, printed circuit board traces, backplanes).

In the previous de-risk activity, the feasibility of developing a fuel cell system based on spin-in from terrestrial solutions for different space applications was confirmed. Regenerative fuel cell systems can outperform classic Li-Ion batteries in terms of specific energy (Wh/kg) especially for large systems, e.g. for lunar stations, landers or rovers. The identification of suitable components and suppliers was done along with a preliminary design of the breadboard in the previous activity.

Visualisation is the bridge between the quantitative information hidden in the data and the human intuition and understanding; it is a challenge of key importance in the present ?Big Data? era. In all three segments of the Space Safety Programme (S2P) large amounts of data are produced daily. Adequate visualisation can lead to more effective analysis of diverse aspects and increase knowledge about the unfolding of different phenomena. For example, the main current means of visualisation of Space Weather phenomena used by scientists and operators are 2D and in few cases 3D graphs.

Upcoming Earth observation missions will feature very high downlinks rates over less reliable links (K-Band / Optical). Supporting such high rates may require the adoption of new standards like the Unified Space Data Link Protocol allowing larger frame sizes and the re-transmission of data segments like done in the CCSDS LTP protocol or private ARQ schemes. The less predictable nature of optical downlinks makes it even more necessary to seek into alternatives like a more networked communication paradigm.
